”After All - Everything Is Puppetry” is an anthology of analytic and playful essays, written by the internationally awarded puppeteer Ishmael Falke and illustrated by the likewise well acknowledged puppetry scenographer Johanna Latvala. Each essay outlines an everyday, universal phenomenon such as the stock market, a funeral, a football match or a demonstration, and analyses it from the whimsical perspective of a puppet- or object theatre maker. This work utilizes puppetry's jester-like way of looking at familiar things differently. The texts embrace a surreal-social reasoning of how vital it is to see the “ready” world as an entirety in process and to attempt a constructive change. This book makes the reader into the maker and the auteur of their own life-show.
