Hell'sgodmachine is a poetry collection full of power that howls, whispers, and reminisces over the fateful amalgam that is the ancient city of Berlin. Finnish author and poet Ville Hytönen (b. 1982) exhibits the full scope of his dark yet shining vision in this book, the third in a celebrated trilogy of poetic works about the history of Europe.
The poems in this collection, translated into English by poet and translator Kasper Salonen, bring a cascade of details and experiences from the heart of the Old World to our collective attention in a time of shuddering global upheaval.
"In this postmodern epic, Ville Hytönen surfs the tsunami of contemporary collective fetishization and mass-produced paranoia."
