On November 9, 2023, a Lithuanian-Finnish history colloquium was organized, the theme of which was Independence, Parliament, and Political Parties. The colloquium was hosted by the Faculty of History of the University of Vilnius and the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Oulu, in cooperation with the Finnish Embassy in Vilnius, the Lithuanian Embassy in Helsinki, and Donelaitis Society.
The colloquium discussed various aspects of domestic and international policy in the light of the history of Finland and Lithuania. The temporal focus was on the period between the two World Wars. The scientific articles in this compilation are based on the presentations given at the colloquium.
