Eight gardens, eight lessons in the resilient strength of nature.
You are invited on an inspiring journey through Estonian gardens, each one reflecting the simple truth that nothing meaningful is born overnight.
Some of the stunning gardens captured by photographer Krista Keltanen have been thoughtfully designed, while others have grown more freely through trial and discovery. The archipelago climate, shifting winters and varied soils determine what will thrive and how each garden is tended. Many of the gardeners featured in the book favour plants that flourish without constant watering or fertilisation. Biodiversity is embraced as a guiding principle. Pesticides are used sparingly, if at all, and not everything needs to be brought under control. These gardens belong not only to their stewards, but also to insects, birds and other small creatures.
Pause for a moment. Take a deep breath and look around. Beauty reveals itself everywhere.
