Knitcation is an invitation to slow down, pick up your needles, and let knitting carry you away from the rush of everyday life. It's a state of mind – an unhurried morning with a cup of coffee, a lazy evening at the cottage, a summer day in the city, or simply an ordinary moment at home when there's time to do something just for the joy of it. In other words, to knit.
The timeless designs in this book come together to create the perfect hand-knitted holiday wardrobe. With 18 knitting patterns for laid-back days, summer evenings, days in the city, and even festive occasions, the collection is filled with beautiful, thoughtfully designed pieces you'll want to knit and wear again and again. The designs take their names from music – songs that evoke memories of holidays both near and far.
Knitcation – Timeless Knits for Unhurried Moments invites you to pause, make space for creativity, and savour the wonderful feeling of having your needles in your hands and no rush to be anywhere else. Sometimes all you need for a little escape is yarn, needles, and a few stitches.
Paula Narkiniemi is the knitwear designer behind Poolaknits, and her patterns have been published in magazines in Finland and internationally. She inspires knitters to explore different kinds of garments and to create their own wardrobe staples that stand the test of time.
