Laventeli Taivas

A Joik of Brotherhood and Light

Kuvaus

Lavender Sky is the first book in a magical series by Heini Laitinen. It follows three brothers Áilu, Mikkâl, and Ivvár - who live by Kuolajärvi in Salla, Finland. On the frozen lake, two of them encounter both danger and wonder, and a pale, mysterious figure appears to guide them. A story of brotherhood, courage, and connection, Lavender Sky is steeped in the Sámi tradition of joik where songs carry memory, prayer, and the voices of the past. Blending the real and the supernatural, it takes readers on an enchanting adventure through ice, forest, and sky.
The second book in the series, Bridge Over Shadows, is coming in 2026.
